1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using DRFT ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of service
DRFT is an ambient audio monitoring application available on iOS and macOS. The App listens for user-configured wake words during calls, meetings, and conversations, and can generate AI-powered summaries of detected moments.
On iPhone, DRFT uses the device microphone to capture ambient audio — designed for speakerphone calls, in-person meetings, and other situations where conversation is audible in the room. On Mac, DRFT uses system audio capture to listen to audio from meeting apps. All speech recognition happens on-device. Audio is processed in real time and immediately discarded — it is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
3. Free and Pro tiers
DRFT offers two service tiers:
- Free tier — Up to 10 saved moments, 2 default wake words + 1 custom wake word, iPhone and Mac support.
- Pro tier — Up to 50 saved moments, 2 default wake words + up to 3 custom wake words, AI-generated summaries, device linking (Mac + iPhone), iCloud sync, and early access to new features.
Feature availability and limits may change. We will communicate material changes through the App or this page.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Pro tier access is available through an auto-renewing subscription managed by Apple via the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
All purchases are subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement .
5. Recording consent & ambient audio — your responsibility
DRFT does not record calls. It captures ambient audio in real time solely for the purpose of detecting wake words — no audio is saved at any point. However, because DRFT listens to ambient audio that may include conversations, consent and monitoring laws may apply in your jurisdiction.
You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding audio monitoring and recording consent. This includes:
- Informing meeting participants when DRFT is active, if required by local law.
- Understanding the difference between one-party and all-party consent jurisdictions.
- Ensuring your use of DRFT complies with workplace policies and applicable regulations.
DRFT provides tools — it does not provide legal advice.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use DRFT to monitor conversations without required consent.
- Use the App for surveillance, harassment, or any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell access to the App.
7. Intellectual property
DRFT, its design, code, branding, and related materials are owned by Bryan Cabrera. You retain ownership of any content generated through your use of the App (transcripts, summaries, wake words).
8. Third-party services
DRFT integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API — Transcript text may be sent to Google's Gemini API (via a Cloudflare Workers proxy) to generate AI summaries (Pro feature). See Google's AI Terms .
- Cloudflare Workers — Request proxy for Gemini API calls. Validates and rate-limits requests. Does not log or store transcript content.
- Apple Multipeer Connectivity — Local-network relay of detection payloads between Mac and iPhone (Pro feature).
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — Optional sync of saved moments across your devices.
- Apple StoreKit — Subscription and purchase processing.
We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
DRFT is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that wake word detection will be 100% accurate, that AI summaries will be error-free, or that the App will operate without interruption.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bryan Cabrera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of DRFT, including but not limited to missed detections, inaccurate summaries, or legal consequences of unauthorized recording.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to DRFT if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases, but provisions regarding liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution survive.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of DRFT after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
